More than 2,000 veteran students are expected to meet in San Antonio this week for a three-day conference geared toward helping former service members define their futures.

The conference represents the largest annual gathering of student veterans and their supporters in higher education. The event, NatCon 2018, will be hosted by Student Veterans of America, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization with about 600,000 members.

SVA describes the event as “jam-packed.” The agenda includes sessions focused largely on education and employment, including discussions on landing scholarships and how to rock your resume. There will also be advice for SVA chapter leaders on how best to attract more members to their groups and get more influence at their schools.

Former Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald and retired Gen. George Casey are among the list of speakers who will be in attendance, as is retired Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson, the first female superintendent of the Air Force Academy. Johnson recently became a vice president with the NBA. Representatives from Silicon Valley and Hollywood will also be making appearances.
