Looking for tips on a smooth transition? You may want to tune your TV to the “Hiring America” show this weekend.
The show, which airs on the Armed Forces Network and a variety of stations nationwide, will devote 30 minutes to a recent town hall event at the George W. Bush Institute in Dallas, where experts in veteran employment spoke about the challenges facing transitioning service members and resources to help them ease into the civilian job market.
Among the panelists were retired Gen. George Casey, a former Army chief of staff, executives from corporate America and representatives of veteran service organizations.
“The town hall meeting was an incredible exchange of ideas and meaningful, impactful dialogue,” Art Bilger, founder and CEO of WorkingNation, an organizer of the event, said in a news release. “It proved to be a great way of sharing insights on how we can best deliver on the promise of a good life/good career and job for those who have served in the military. I’m thrilled we can share this with millions of TV viewers.”
The event will be split into two shows, the first of which will air this Friday, Saturday or Sunday, depending on the local station. The second installment will be shown early next year.
