Hire Our Heroes Founder Dan Caporale shares how you can make the most of social media when you're looking for a job.

“Network, network, network."

That’s the top piece of job search advice from Hire Our Heroes Founder Dan Caporale, who sat down with Military Times recently to discuss his nonprofit and tips for veterans entering the civilian workforce.

Caporale said LinkedIn is a great way to go about networking, as job seekers can follow companies they’re interested in and connect with employees already at that organization.

The social media site offers veterans one year of free access to its premium features, so you can get started easily with a photo and work history. Caporale also suggests adding a description that shows off what you’re good at and including information about your military experience in your profile.
